Hello Brother & Sister Page,
Your son arrived safe and sound, just a little tired but ready to get going.
Please see attached letter and pictures from President and Sister McConkie.
Best: Sister Holt
Excerpt from President McConkie’s Letter:
“Elder Gavin Page has safely arrived in the Czech/Slovak Mission. Sister McClonke and I am impressed with your son and want to thank you for all that you have done in preparing this wonderful young man for his mission. In our estimation, he is prepared and ready to “. . . preach the gospel to every creature that cometh under the sound of . . . (his) voice.: D & C 80:1. . . .
Tomorrow, after a good night’s rest, he will be assigned a companion and an area in which to work. You should receive an e-mail from your missionary on P-day. We are confident that the Lord will stand with and bless him as he serves.
You son has accepted a call that will change his life and the lives of those with whom he is serving. These first few months will be full of new and challenging experiences . . . Our greatest hope is that each missionary with whom we serve has the kind of mission experience that will establish the foundation for a lifetime of service and discipleship.”
As Elder Page’s family, we are so thankful for him. For his decision to serve the Lord, in whatever capacity He sees fit to have him serve, and are thankful for the blessings of the gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives. Through Jesus Christ we find the peace, hope, joy and meaning that brings purposeful commitment to our lives.
