My invitation to all of you this week is to try to . . .

Dear Family and Friends,

So last week my email didn’t send/got deleted… So I am going to try and write up all the craziness that has been going on here the past two weeks in this email! Granted I will probably on touch on the highlights… Anyhow, here is the day by day!
Tuesday (10/6): We had a fairly normal day with studies and such. The highlight of the day was our English Class! We had a good group come and in addition to that we had a game night afterwards and were able to teach a great lesson at the end of it and share the new Czech Mormon Message that came out!

Wednesday (10/7): We had a great day full of contacting, where we just tried to talk to everyone about General Conference!

Thursday (10/8): We had Family Home Evening where we played “Bang!” and some other fun board games! We also found a family that said they wanted to start meeting with us after FHE!
Friday (10/9): We tried a new form of contacting where we set up a table next to our building and played old sessions of Conference and talked to people about why prophets are important today! Then we ended our day with sports night!
Saturday (10/10): We watched conference with the Branch and it was amazing! We even had some of our investigators come and watch it with us. It was a wonderful experience to watch as each speaker seemed to answer all of the questions that our investigators had.
Sunday (10/11): Was pretty much the same as Saturday, but at the end of Conference we went to a less active members home and helped her make pig in the blankets, which we delivered to some of the newer converts in the Branch!
Monday (10/12): We had our regular Preparation Day stuff, like cleaning nd shopping. Then we went to lunch with our friend Marek, followed by emailing and contacting time.
Tuesday (10/13): We contacted for most of the day, until we had English which went super well again! To finish our day we went and celebrated Sestra Holland’s one year mark in the Czech Republic, by getting some good old fashion Czech Food.
Wednesday (10/14): We got up and had our daily run, got ready, and then caught a train to head to Trebic for District Meeting. It went super well and then we got lunch together. Then Elder Terry and I started our exchange together in Trebic! It was a great time being able to serve with him outside of the MTC. And we had a great time tracting and teaching people together!
Thursday (10/15): I woke up in Trebic and got to work with Elder Terry in the morning. We had several lessons together and then our exchange ended and I caught a train back to Jihlava with Elder Bourn, just in time for Family Homing Evening! After FHE we cleaned the building and called it a night.
Friday (10/16): We contacted all day in the rain! We had a lot of fun tabling inside of our building and trying to invite inside to get out of the rain. And then we had sports night which was also a blast playing soccer with all the Czech kids in the rain.
Satuday (10/17): We had another exciting day of service! We went to the farm again, and killed and plucked 30 turkeys! Then we helped feed the deer, sheep, and rabbits there. All in all a great day of service. After that we went home, changed and got out talking to people on the streets again.
Sunday (10/18): We had church, followed by a ward correlation meeting. And then we were outside the rest of the day visiting with people about baptism!
Monday (10/19): So far we have shopped, cleaned, and had our transfer interviews with President!

This week I wanted to talk about the parable of the talents. Here is a brief summary.

Jesus told the story of a master who gave each of his three servants a sum of money. The amounts were set according to each servant’s previously demonstrated capabilities, being 5, 2,and 1. The man then left for a long time. When he returned, he asked each of these servants to report what he had done with the money.

The first two servants revealed they had doubled his investment. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord,” was the master’s reply (Matt. 25:21; see alsoMatt. 25:23).

The third servant then came trembling before his master. He had already heard what the others had reported and knew that he could not give a similar report. “I was afraid,” the servant said, “and went and hid thy talent in the earth” (Matt. 25:25). The master was upset. “Thou wicked and slothful servant,” he said. Then he commanded, “Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents” (Matt. 25:26, 28).

I have been thinking about why the first two servants received the same reward and the third not only failed to receive the reward, but lost what he originally had. This is the conclusion I came to, the first two servents did different amounts of work, but both tried to improve what they already had. The third did not try at all rather he hid it up. I believe that master rewarded the first two servants because the tried, they put forth an effort to become better. The amount they had didn’t matter, but the fact that they tried did. My invitation to all of you this week is to try to improve in any way that you can, whether you have much or little. I know Heavenly Father bless those who put forth an effort to become the best they can be. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

I hope yáll have a great week!

Happy Days!
