We choose how our sails are set and what a blessing it is when we are surrounded by strong winds!

Dear family and friends,
Tuesday – March 8:
Was a great day full of contacting, and for that simple reason, it was amazing. The longer I am on my mission the more and more I love stopping and telling random people on the street about the gospel. Later in the day we had a lesson with E. which went great, and then we taught our English Class, and it was a great time because we decided to play 20 questions with everyone.
Wednesday – March 9:
We had New Missionary Orientation in Brno so most of our day was spent traveling to and from there, but it was great fun seeing all the other missionaries and being able to hear from President and Sister McConkie. To end the day we had dinner with, and taught a lesson to, a recent convert named L., which was also a great experience.
Thursday – March 10:
We had District Meeting in the morning, where we trained on how to better Ëxpound” The Lord in our missionary work, and it went well. Then we did some splits and went out contacting on the Restoration. Then we had a lesson with Ellie where we talked more about baptism and how what exactly it means. Afterwards, we had game night with some of the YSA in the Branch. And to end the night we went out to Sushi to start an exchange!
Friday – March 11:
I had an exchange with Elder Vickers, who recently came to Olomouc from Liberec, and he is fantastic! I am so blessed to have him in the District! So we had a great day of contacting together, and we found some wonderfully interesting people. Then we had another lesson with E. about being a member of the church after baptism, and what it means for her. Then to end the night we went to dinner with V., a  member her in Olomouc.
Saturday – March 12:
We weekly planned in the morning followed by contacting, but that was basically it.
Sunday – March 13:
We had church which was awesome because we had two people come to church with us. And we had a great amount of success contacting after church as well, finding a young mom and a YSA girl who were both very interested in learning more.
All in all, a great week!
So the spiritual thought this week is another poem. It is called “The Winds of Fate” by Ella Wheller Wilcox, and it goes as such:
One ship drives east and another drives west
With the selfsame winds that blow.
Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales
Which tells us the way to go.
Like the winds of the seas are the ways of fate,
As we voyage along through the life:
Tis the set of a soul
That decides its goal,
And not the calm or the strife.
I have talked a lot previously about the idea of being an agent instead of an object in my other emails, mainly because I keep learning more and more each week that this principle is true. No matter how the wind blows, or what kind of storm rages around us, we choose how our sails are set. And what a blessing it is when we are surrounded by strong winds! For without them, we could never sail forward. So, let us look to the horizon, set our sails, and press forward to that wonder prize that awaits all who push forward with all diligence! I know with the Savior all things are possible and I am thankful for the opportunity he gave me to act in my life. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Have a great week!

Happy Days!
