Dear Family and Friends,
Hope you have all had a great week! Here is the day by day:
Monday, August 15:
Just a normal P-day with the normal run around and errands. And as always we ended the night with Family Home Evening with the Bowens, which was spectacular as always.
Tuesday, August 16:
Regular studies in the morning followed be a contacting block before we had a lesson with a recent convert and a new investigator. It was a great lesson and, hopefully, we will be able to continue working with him. Afterwards, we had a fun contacting block in the park where we bumped into our homeless friends. After being in the same area for so long, it is funny, how manage to become friends with all the homeless people there. So, we had a nice talk with them before returning to the building to get ready for English. English went great, and we had several new people who came!
Wednesday, August 17:
A perfectly normal day, studies followed by lunch and contacting throughout Olomouc until we had a lesson with one of our good friends Marek. He took us to his home just outside of Olomouc, where we were able to meet his grandmother and share a short spiritual thought.
Thursday, August 18:
We had our personal study in the morning, and then President Pohorelicky arrived at our apartment with his wife. We then went to the other Elders apartment with them and had District meeting and language study with them. It was a wonderful opportunity to get them more and receive helpful insights on how we can change our missionary work here in Olomouc. Then we had lunch, followed by contacting and referral system work. Then we got ready for and had game night which was a success!
Friday, August 19:
We got up early and traveled to Prague because Elder Cardon had visa work. So we got there, and I went out and did some contacting with the missionaries in Prague until all the missionaries had finished their visa work. Then we all went to lunch before traveling back to Olomouc.
Saturday, August 20:
We did some studies early in the morning before we went to Sister Kopecka’s home for lunch and a lesson. She is one of my favorite people I have come to know on my mission! Just so simple kind and caring. Afterward, we traveled back to Olomouc and contacted until Sports Night, where we played beach volleyball.
Sunday, August 21:
We had church, followed by branch council, and then we went home for lunch. Then we weekly planned, before going out for a bit to contact. And we ended the night with a round of calls.
I don’t have much for a spiritual thought this week, but I did want to share a quote I read that touched me from Elder Uchdorf. It reads, “In the end, the number of prayers we say may contribute to our happiness, but the number of prayers we answer may be of even greater importance.” As a missionary, I have seen that as we serve, joy naturally comes to us. So let us find those in need of help, and be an answer to someone’s prayer today. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Have a great week!
